The studio picked up an AEAF Silver award for work on Star Trek: Picard season 3
The studio took home Silver in the TV Series category of this year’s AEAF Awards, which is given annually to honour creative and technical excellence in the use of visual effects and animation. Star Trek: Picard season 3, the final season of the show, was released on Amazon Prime and Paramount+ earlier this year and follows Picard on the most daring mission of his life.
Outpost VFX, who also worked on the previous season, delivered a number of key sequences for Star Trek: Picard season 3 on all 10 episodes. The team worked seamlessly across all sites on iconic shots that included Federation and alien ships, the Borg, as well as developing an old favourite of the Star Trek series: the Changeling.
Outpost also made the AEAF shortlist for its work on Westworld season 4, in TV Series category, and Slumberland, in the Feature Film Sequence category. The studio won Special Merit at last year’s awards for work on Foundation season 1.
AEAF is an international competition, screening, and speaker program now in its 26th year with entries from around the world. The judging criteria include the technical skill, artistry and quality of the visual effects and animation, their appropriateness within the project, and their contribution to storytelling.
