Our Los Angeles team are on the hunt for a 3D generalist to join the talented team for some exciting projects we have on the horizon like Star Trek: Picard and Westworld S4. From modelling to animation, you’ll be tasked with a variety of disciplines, working effectively alongside the rest of Outpost’s skilful global 3D team.

Featured Opportunity #2 – Pipeline Developer (UK, LA, Montreal, Mumbai)
Outpost UK, LA, Montreal and Mumbai are looking for Pipeline Developers to join them as part of the pipeline team, working closely with other developers to build the next generation of our VFX pipeline.
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the tools, software and workflows used on our award-winning VFX and Feature Animation shows.
We are in development of a completely new CG pipeline and asset management system. Our goal is to take advantage of modern techniques and technology to give our artists the best possible working environment.
Join Head of Technology Tim and the rest of the busy team in developing tools to accelerate workflow in production of high-profile visual effects imagery.

Featured Opportunity #3 – FX TD (Montreal)
Senior FX TD in Montreal, Coco Lee recently sat down with us for 5 minutes where she discusses the team and environment at Outpost,
“I’m very delighted to work with my colleagues; they are gentle, funny, and very talented. They always help and give me great advice if I’m stuck on any work.”

From creating dust clouds to heavy rain scenes, our FX artists at Outpost work on a variety of exciting high-end projects featuring versatile use of fluids, fur, particles and RBD’s.
The Montreal team are also looking for Jr-Sr FX Artists to join them on exciting projects like Outer Range, Slumberland and Foundation. You will be working closely with the VFX supervisors as well on FX elements.

Featured Opportunity #4 – Roto Artist (Mumbai)
Our Mumbai studio are looking for Roto Artists to join the team for an exciting time at Outpost with a new studio opening in India very soon. With this comes creative, high-profile projects that you’ll be working on with the rest of the global studios.
Working alongside the Roto Lead and Roto Supervisor you’ll be responsible for creating garbage and articulate mattes to help Paint Artists and Compositors seamlessly integrate all elements of a shot to the highest level of VFX photo-realism.

When speaking with AnimationXpress, Outpost’s Mumbai GM Syamantak Thakur discusses the Indian VFX industry and his hopes for the future, “we have seen some positive change over recent years. I think we’ve seen a transition from the initial stages of the industry here where a lot of people were just venturing into the field and there wasn’t much complex work coming into India. Featured Opportunity #5 – 2D Supervisor (UK)
Head of 2D Giorgio, from our Bournemouth UK Studio has an opportunity for an experienced 2D Supervisor to join him throughout various high-end projects in film and TV. You’ll be working and communicating with the VFX Supervisor, Producer and 2D team whilst being responsible for comping complex shots and managing the 2D team.
When discussing the 2D work that Outpost did for The Wheel of Time, Giorgio gives us an insight into the complexity of the work you’ll be doing on his team, “We added elements like smoke, light, and digi doubles to make the city more dynamic, to bring it to life. We imagined what it would be like living in the city and added traces of smoke coming from the houses in the morning light for people be lighting a fire as they wake up, subtle things like that.”
