Emmys 2023: Outpost Projects Nominated For Best VFX

13 July 2023

The 2023 Creative Arts Emmys nominees have been announced

Two Outpost VFX projects have received nominations for the 2023 Emmy Awards.

House of the Dragon and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which both feature work from Outpost VFX, have been nominated for Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Season or Movie.

In HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon, Outpost was tasked with building CG environments, fluid simulations, fire FX, crowd simulations and more.

For Amazon’s marquee 2022 release The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Outpost was pivotal to the climactic sequence that closed out the season, delivering complex FX work to depict the forging of the three Elven rings of power.

The 2023 Emmy nominations were revealed in a special broadcast on 12 July 2023, with the winners due to be announced at the annual Emmy Awards gala later in the year.

This news marks four Emmy nominations over the last two years for Outpost, following its 2022 nominations for Foundation and The Man Who Fell to Earth.

Our best wishes go out to all nominees in the VFX categories and to the teams globally that delivered exceptional work for the most exciting film and episodic projects of the last year.
