Overview
We are proud to have delivered over 450 shots for 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, the sequel to the hit indie survival horror, 47 Meters Down.
47 Meters Down: Uncaged sees Outpost VFX reuniting with director Johannes Roberts and The Fyzz Facility in a claustrophobic setting as four girls find themselves trapped underwater in Mayan ruins. Oxygen tanks start to run low as some familiar predators start encircling the divers, hungry for a feast and ready for a frenzy.
“Working with Johannes was very collaborative,” said Andy Burrow, Outpost’s Head of Production, UK.
“Johannes was always very receptive to our ideas on how to make shots work within the time constraints and the budget of the show.”
As the main vendor on 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, we created creatures including a great white shark, blind cave shark and tetra fish; CG submarine; CG vortex; water FX simulations; set extensions and digital double replacements,
“From the voracious great whites, to intricate water and vortex FX, I am very proud of the team at Outpost and what we managed to achieve,” said Dave Sadler-Coppard, VFX Supervisor.
47 Meters Down: Uncaged is in US cinemas now, with an international release to follow later in 2019.
