Outpost VFX Montréal Appoints Becca Scott As MD

13 February 2020

Becca moves into a new position to drive the studio forward throughout a busy 2020

Becca Scott has been appointed Managing Director of Outpost VFX in Montréal.

Formerly Head of Production, Becca has moved to a newly created role that will see her manage the whole facility and its operations as it enters a busy 2020. She will report to UK-based Gez Hixson, COO, and will work closely with Global Executive Producer, Amy Hollywood Wixson, who is based in Los Angeles.

Becca joined Outpost VFX in 2019 as its first employee in North America following a decade working at major VFX vendors in Montréal, Toronto and London on tentpole VFX productions including The Martian and Guardians of the Galaxy. In the short time since, Outpost VFX has seen its Montréal operation grow to 50 people, with further growth projected throughout 2020.

In the studio’s first 12 months, Becca has overseen VFX production for See season 1, Locke & Key (Netflix) and the upcoming second season of The Alienist (Paramount Television).

“I’m delighted to take on the role of Managing Director in Montréal,” she said.

“Over the last 12 months I’ve overseen our growth to 50 people delivering ever more complex work and am looking forward to being in the driving seat as we continue to hone our client services in the region, continue to build on our close ties with our UK team and further refine our internal culture.

“Key to our substantial growth in our first year has been our focus on building and then nurturing a world-class team of artists at all levels that have been instrumental in establishing our Montréal studio as an attractive proposition for our global client base.

“Our environment work on shows like See and Locke & Key gives me a tremendous amount of pride and I can’t wait to share more of what we’ve been working on in the studio in the coming months. We have a very exciting 2020 ahead of us in Montréal."

“Since playing an instrumental role in helping us to establish our Montréal studio, Becca has overseen the studio’s rapid growth and its exceptional work for Locke & Key, See, the upcoming second season of The Alienist and more,” said Gez Hixson, COO.

“As we enter 2020 with a great roster of shows in the works, Becca is now in the best position to ensure the company grows sensibly and sustainably to deliver bigger and better things. We are thrilled to have Becca as MD in Montréal and I look forward to many more years of working together.”
